Hey guys.....great forum. Wondering if I could get some advice.

Purchasing a 90 toyota 5spd 4 cyl 4x4. Using it as a little commuter/work truck and to get over mountain passes in winter (washington state).

I live in this blasted Seattle traffic and really would prefer an automatic when stuck in the parking lot they call I-5.

Is it logistically possible to swap the 5 spd for an auto? Any ideas on how to go about this....cost, where to get an auto tranny etc? Labor? Would plan on having someone else do it

Honestly, you'd probably be better of selling in and buying an auto. This topic has been brought up a couple times in the past, and that was the suggestion as I remember.

 

Too bad not 3.0... If all goes well I will be selling a perfectly good (under warranty until October) auto tranny from my rig at the end of this month...
