5'' of backspacing. Dangerous??
I just bought some wheels. They are made by Pacer but look identical to the black rockcrawlers. They have the red and blue rings around the wheels and everything. I went up there today and asked the guys what the backspacing was on them and they said 5 inches. Is this too much or dangerous? I'm pretty sure rockcrawler wheels have 4.75. Would another 1/4 inch make that much of a difference?
Thanks!

Certain late model GM models (IIRC) have 5 1/4" of backspacing, but other than that the backspacing that is normally found on IFS rigs is 4 1/2, max 4 3/4". 3 3/4 for solid axle rigs. I think you will find that if those are 5" they won't physically fit your on rig. They will probably hit steering components, and tires would rub on the upper A-arms too... Easy enough to try one on the front and see.

Well it seems that these did. Darren was right. They got the tires balanced, tried to put them on and they hit my calipers. Im pretty pissed. I told the guy to get me wheels for a 99 4runner, and they dont fit.
