Exclamation 4WD problem

As we all know winter is getting here, and the forcast expects snow very soon, so I decided to test my 4WD out. When I engage 4WD and start to gas, the car feels alot different, when i turn the wheel my truck bumps up and down and doesnt want to go foward (makes kind of like a harsh bumping noise) . Also when I release 4WD back into 2WD, sometimes there is a huge jolt in my truck which is rather loud, and my truck like slams down. Anyone know whats going on? I feel like something is about to break

BTW I do not have manual hubs

are you testing this on a hard surface? if so i think its working fine, its not meant to be used on high traction surfaces

This sounds normal if on dry pavement. Your transfer case will bind front/back when trying to turn in 4wd on dry pavement. When you put the truck back in 2wd the driveline tension is released and you hear clunks and the suspenion may settle back down.

Be careful about running in 4wd on dry pavement. If you had a viscous differential (like full-time 4wd) the binding is not an issue.
