4th gen A/C Problems?

I feel like my 2003 v8 runner's A/C fluctuates from warm to cold? Is it just me, or are other people having the same problem?

Take it off auto, crank the temp setting way down and it will never fluctuate (of course, you may freeze). The automated system truly has a mind of its own and will vary the vent temperature all over the board. Kind of annoying actually, I miss the old fashioned manual controls where it was basically set it an forget it for your particular needs and it controled the temp by blending the air. Apparently the automated system either blows cold air or ambient air and shifts back and forth between the two. Mine does the same thing with heat in the winter - not a consistent temperature out the vents but that on/off thing. Maybe technology isn't always an improvement.
