4runner wont start! Help please!
So I disconected my battery earlier today and then put it back on and then when i opened the door the car alarm went off. Funny thing is... I didn't know i had a car alarm. Which means i have no clicker to turn it off. So now with the battery reconnected it still wont start because its in some anti-theft system that i didnt even know i had. Any way to shut this thing off? I have no idea if it's factory or aftermarket, any way to tell? Any insight would be appreciated.

If you don't have a remote, and didn't know it was there just remove it.
Usually there is one wire near the steering column that has been cut. The alarm module would then complete the circuit and allow the car to start.
You will probably just be cutting out a lot of spliced in wires, and re-connecting one or two as mentioned.

Potentially could be as simple as pulling the fuse for the alarm.
My reference point is recently shown "Wrecked" episode on Speed TV with Buick alarm going off in customer's garage. O'Hare located the fuse and pulled it-jumped the battery to start car and customer drove to dealership to get it fixed or removed.
Not trying to be a smart aleck, but it seems like a sound theory.

try closing all the doors, then connect the battery and then try to unlock/lock the doors and then turn the key in the ignition a couple times. If you have pwr door locks they should be wired into the alarm system as an alternate way to arm disarm the alarm.
