Well I got a good one for the top minds here to ponder maybe give me some new ideas.
Every time it gets cold the hotblooded 4Runner goes cold.
It is throwing a Help code PO1300 which put simple means the ecm is not seeing the signal from the igniter.
So in the pre 98 year engine it shuts off the fuel to the injectors .
It seems to run just fine in the warmer temps this all started when it started to get cold .
I can only think it must be a poor connection or else salt has got in some place a corroded something.
.I doubt it has anything at all to do with the MAF sensor falling off and being held by the wire harness.
The air filter box being cracked replaced with a new one and new sensor.
A shame really I am almost to the point i no longer trust this to drive any further then I can walk in a few hours.
I must say I am getting quite a bit of exercise walking home and to work
any ideas where to look ideas ?/
Thanks

just drug this thing out back i got better things to do till I get the electrical diagrams manual.
i guess my next step is to buy a new ECM and igniter .
Then maybe just use it as a warm weather grocery getter

Because I can`t leave well enough alone I thought give it one more try!!
After clearing all the codes at this point a scan gauge looks like a good investment .
Short ride to the bottom of the mountain about 2 miles total today`s new code PO 0141 O2 heater circuit fault.
I just need to face the fact it just does not like the cold !!
it should be warm enough in a few months to use again.

Today`s Code is the favorite P 0505 The Idle Air system rpm. No doubt it is froze .
This is a challenge and a learning experience .I keep telling my self this several times a hour!!!
I also learned one of the exhaust studs had stripped threads Yea more fun.
imagine my surprise that someone had put some sort screw in of oxygen sensor instead of the normal Denso 234-4154 that it calls for and I had on the shelf.
As both heaters had failed in the O2 sensors.
The people at the local Toyota dealer have not had such a good laugh in a long time
I have my work cut out pulling the exhaust system to fix things the right way. Or just leave this out to be covered in snow.
