4Runner is goin bye bye soon

As much as I love my 4Runner there are cars out there that I love even more and I finally found one. Now I know I am probably gonna get some crap on this but I am selling the runner for an 03 Tahoe Z71. I saw and drove it and I just couldn't resist. I have had a good run with my second 4Runner but it's time to move on. Watch out for it in the classifieds if you are interested!.

Hey thanks man, I almost was starting to think I was gonna be eaten alive.

saying that, I am going to miss the 4Runner and it actually scares me because this the first american car I have owned and my family hasn't owned an american car since I was born 6 hondas, 3 yotas, and a nissan. It's gonna def be a different experience I just hope I can find another forum that has been as awesome...who knows I might be back soon in the future with a 4th gen or an FJ.

One question:

WHY?

Sure, you might pick it up for CHEAP, but don't count on selling it for more than 30% of what you bought it for a year later. Are you buying it for towing? If so, why not a Sequoia? If I HAD to go with domestic, GMC would be on the top of my list, but still, that's only if I HAD to go dumbestic.

Anyway, good luck with the sale and purchase.

LOL there's no way I could trade a Toyota for a Chevy.. maybe if it was a corvette Z06, but that's it.

I have respect for the Z06's, but it seems like every single Vette I see is a Z06. Seriously, I'd say about 70% of the Vettes I see in my area are C6-Z06's. They are cool looking and all, but no way I'd spend that much on that car. Plus the interior is waaaaaay too cheap for a $70k+ car (much like most GMC's). I could think of several cars I'd spend $70k on before the Vette.

I have always loved tahoe's, my girlfriends family all have tahoes or yukons and have had really good luck with them so I found this one and I decided to go for it. I might regret it, I might not...who knows? I have never been a huge fan of sequoias and my moms got a Land Cruiser that I really don't like to drive.

Cool. Well, if that's what your heart desires, then go for it. I also went domestic once with a Jeep GC from a 4Runner. Sold it 6 months later. Will never make that mistake again. I bought another Toyota promptly after. Felt much better. That's just me, though. I'm sure there are plenty of people happy with their GMC's.

I'll say one thing, though. Those Tahoe's are really comfy.

Arnt 4rth gens and FJ cruiser purely american made too now?

And the above comments about fords, sure the new ones are pretty crappy, i worked at a ford dealer for a long time so i bet i know more about it then you guys do. All mass manufactured vehicles made in america have continous problems these days, u just have to get lucky and get one without flaws, our fricken 2007 tacoma already has a tick and we havnt missed a service, if it starts ticking like my 4runner im gona poop a brick. I have freinds who have problems with their brand new chevs and gmc's too, they are all the same. Ill never get rid of my 88 4runner or my 79 f250. They both are miracle machines.

Don't sweat it. My wife has a 03 Tahoe LT and it now has 149,000 miles and it runs great. And as far as being a gas guzzler, I have to disagree. She only gets about 2 MPG's less than my 03 Tacoma.

And Cackalack, please don't judge all american brands based on a p.o.s. Jeep.

Hey, man, I'm with ya.
First off, the Tahoe will ride alot better than your 4Runner. And, they are good trucks. My uncle had a Suburban around that year, with no issues in the 5 years he owned it.

I'm almost in the same boat. I plan on getting rid of my 2002 Tundra. Don't
get me wrong, the Tundra is awesome, but for various reasons, the biggest one being a monthly payment, I have decuded to go with a mid-late 90's Silverado. The 350 is one of the greatest engines ever built, and considering they made the same truck from 1988-1999, I figure they should've had all the kinks worked out.

Nothing wrong with a Chevy, dude. Good luck with your purchase

thanks man! and I have heard that same thing about the gas mileage...its really not that bad.

I totally agree...When I test drove it I was in heaven in the front seats compared to the ones in my 4Runner.
