4Runner Acceleration problem

I'm having a problem with my 4runner's acceleration. It's a 3rd generation with about 176,000 miles on the tranny (52,000 on the motor). When it is cold, and I take off down the road the car stalls between 20 and 30 for about 3 seconds before it changes gears and goes on. It drives fine through the other gears. I was wondering if my transmission could be shot or something else? any Ideas

Mine USED to do that. I believe that's slippage. I got my tranny fluid replaced, and no longer does it do that.
