SBC 400 = siamese cylinders (no coolant flow between each cylinder)
SBC 350 = full coolant flow around cylinders (better cooling)
SBC 383 = more torque than 350, better cooling than 400

ah, wasn't aware of the siamesed bores, now that makes sense...my work truck has a 383 in it with an SM465 4 speed. good stump pulling power, it's routinely used to haul excavators and tractors when our 2 ton truck is out.

it's very, very cold blooded though...i think some aluminum heads would've been a great investment.

Hemi-Powered FJ40 in Montreal

Hi guys and gals,

Just so you know, a local guy named Ken Peets had a Blue FJ40, as a winter car, with a 426 Hemi in it. His summer cars included Boss 429 Mustang and other Hemi car. He had to cut the firewall and move it back 4 inches to make it fit. He was our local hot rod guru when I was young, and he died about 20 years ago. His truck is still around somewhere, and it used to roam our streets back in the day. He built it at Todco Racing, just ask Yogi.

x2...even in mopar land, the RB's and hemi's and always take the spotlight over the small blocks. I used to run 318's and slant 6's in destructioin derby cars and they were unstoppable

My bro just had his 68 426 rebuilt and it is fairly tame but it has 800 hp you may want to sell your mother in law as well for some one tons and a beefed up 727 torque flight just to take the power available.

i vote for a cummins/cat straight six diesel--they are industructable--you could probably idle down the free way at 80mph with low enough gears......you would be like that gasser motor car built around either a P-51 engine or large tank diesel??

You probably wouldnt even need a radiator because you wouldnt be working it.....

sounds like a monster garage build...

Not related to here--but i plan on throwing a Lexus V-8 in my Series 1 XJ6 when i get done with the Yota
