4 wheel parts wholesalers

Has anyone ordered from 4wheelparts.com? I'm looking at buying some things from them and was just wondering how they were to deal with. I'm thinking that I'm going to get their 86-96 Toyota IFS Gear package for $1,393....Front and Rear gears (any ratio, I'm going with 4.88's), Front Detroit TrueTrac LSD, Rear Detroit FALD and all the bearings and setup parts...sounded like a good deal anyway....

Pluse they have some headman headers over there for $183, but over at performance parts they've got Downey headers for $289...which one is better?

But the only thing is that I couldn't find a cat back exhaust system at 4wheelparts.com so I'm going to have to go with the Jardine catback system offered at perfparts for $225....

Anybody feel free to chime in with their two cents...Thanks...Donations can be made out to....lol..j/k

I have ordered my winch from them. Their prices are usually pretty good, but their whole "free shipping" thing seemed to be BS when I ordered my winch. I tried to mail order it to avoid the shipping and tax, but ended up paying for shipping fron their warehouse in CA to their Lynwood WA store, and then paying tax on it anyway even though it was mail ordered! I won't ever mail order from them again, but I have gone into their store many times with no problems.

I ordered some shocks from them for my nissan and although it said free shipping, I got charged $6 for handling fee. They came pretty fast though.

FWIW and from what I've seen on other BB's, the quality of their gear sets aren't really too good and are prone to breaking.

I've ordered from their website a few times with no problems. But I completely refuse to go into their stores (well atleast the one near me) simply because the few times I've gone in there, I've gotten nothing but hassles. One guy completely refused to sell me a set of Edelbrock Shocks for my 4Runner, simply because... "He Didn't Like Them." And when I had gone in there to try and get my money back, or replacement shocks for my Ranchos (They completely died within a few months of putting them on, when doing little to no offroading) The guy in there said... "Obviously, they were on a 4Runner."

So that store left a very sour taste in my mouth. Luckily there's an Offroad Warehouse less than a mile from the 4WP Store, so they've been getting all of my business, and when 4WP has something that ORW doesn't have, I order it online.

Just my experience with their San Marcos store But from my experiences with ordering from them online, I haven't had any problems.

I've had nothing but luck at the store near me, and their website. I got my lift, tires, and all the stuff that I needed. If it's your first time buying then you can get 10% off your total order. there is a discount code, it's 912-03-03. You enter it at some point in the check out. That's only if you get it online. I've never heard of any problems with their gears, plus they have warrenties on them.

gears

i got the precision gears they sell in my 82 and i an not having any problems. DON'T get richmond gears i have heard alot of bad stories about them from off road and drag racing people. they had problems with vibrations or are real noisy. they all recomended the presicion gears. i got them from reider racing they have a ad in peterson 4 wheel they were real friendly and arrived quickly. they did not even like the richmond gears.

go with the downey header there plate at cylinder head is a 1/2 inch thick. hedman 's are only a 1/4 inch thick and warp real easy and the tubing is not as thick. it's like the old saying you get what you pay for
