well i think i would need to get the 3" b/l to go with the 3" revtek spacers. Iv heard that the 3" revtek isnt exactly 3" on both sides (front and back) like 2.5 on one side. As much of you know the 2wd 4runner comes with 1" lower coils then the 4x4 series so im gonna try to go with the 3 inch body to lift it that much more to confrensate. When i order this kit i will reseive a bumper raiser thing so my front and back bumper arnt low...right???

I know they make 4" BL's in iceland it's different but it's been done before. I think it looks good probably pretty sturdy mounts. I personally wouldn't want my CG that high though.

If a front bumper bracket is ordered with the kit, then yes you'll get a front bumper bracket. As you'll note on the lift kit table, kit "F" includes the lift blocks, longer bolts and "front bumper bracket". As also noted on my page, the rear bumper on the 4Runner (all 3 generations) is attached to the body and thus rises with the body. The main issue with a 2" and 3" lift on the 3rd gens is that the spare tire winch access hole will not line up with the winch. If the spare is to be used, some form of workaround for that will be needed (modify handle, make a new access hole, etc.).

I did have to on my 97. Not the fuel lines but rather the wires going to the fuel tank/sender. Real easy though just spliced in some extra wire.

 

yea those are the ones that my buddy had to lengthen. there are under the rear drivers side seat carpet.

 

I acutually never checked those wires. Didnt know I needed to. Hope I didnt break them. I guess every thing is ok. I have had the lift on for atleast 3 or 4 months.

 

if you broke them your motor would not be getting any fuel.

Something else to consider before you put on your revtek kit, is that you may want to search the classifieds here for someones used 4WD coils to put on your 2WD. They are usually pretty cheap and you'll end up with a little more lift and slightly heavier springs. Just a thought...

 

Yikes,

I like to keep it to a maximum suspension lift with minimum body lift, because a really huge body lift just makes it "bigger" but not necessarilly "badder."

By the way, that ghetto-fabbed 4" is scary , it's only a matter of time before the blocks fold onto their side while he's "off-roading." Just curious, but by off roading do you mean "driving on a dirt road" because that 2WD is going nowhere fast (or slow, depending on how you look at it).

You have a 2WD 4Runner, an oxymoron indeed, so maybe you should:

a) Get nice street tires and rims, maybe a supercharger and live with the fact that it's a street only vehicle

or
b) Sell it and get a 2nd gen 4x4!

Your choice of course.

 

I'm with you about 2WD 4Runners........any 2WD SUV for that matter. And there should be limitations on the purchasing of 4WD vehicles. Soccer moms have got to stop buying big SUVs!!!

I have had my 4Runner for 4 years now and it has never been offroad. My wife would freak if the thing touched anything other than pavement.

My solution........divorce her.....keep the 4Runner. Now I'm rebuilding the engine and lifting it for some moderate wheeling. Thanks for the 4Runner babe. Hope you and the new guy have fun, lol.


As for the 4" bodylift. Hell, I can cut some pipe and make a 6" bodylift the same way that this place is doing. Is that a good idea?? Is that sane?? NO WAY!!!! I'm going with a 2" body lift (my check is in the mail Roger).....this is max IMO. I'm still learning the ropes and tricks with my 4Runner, but you have to know about all of the SUV roll-over hype. Thank safety.

 

well im doing alot of it for looks alone. i think it looks great like that. Plus my dad would kill me if he new i was donig serious offroading in my new(to me) 4runner and scratching it up. maybe someday ill upgrade to 4wd tho.. id love to now but dont have the cash. i just wanna go on some little trails

 

You could go on some little trails withough lifting it at all...

 

True but it wouldnt have the look i want.. i eather could put 20's on it or put 33's on it... and i picked 33's. eiather way i want to stand out from the 40,000 4runners we have running around in are little town.
