3RZ Headgasket... how to?
Yes i did search, no i didnt find anything.
Over the past 6 months my Tacoma has been going through about 1-2 coolant overflows a week, and after testing every (and i mean EVERY) other option to find out where its going, i have decided it must be a small HG leak. The motor was neglected for a bit by the previous owner, but at 150k shes still running strong. I plan on replacing the HG but am looking for some kind of writeup to go off, if not i guess ill just have to figure it out and do one myself. Thanks

its all been done, and everything checks out totally fine.
I talked to a mechanic friend today who says after all that the only thing he can think of would be a slow leak in the HG once up to temp, and im outa things to test now...

well... grab a chilton from schmucks otherwise try google.
Also if the motors got a lot of miles it may be time for a timing chain kit. If you're gonna pull the head you'll need to remove the timing chain. Have the head resurfaced and pressure tested. Probly should just rebuild the head- new valve stem seals, have the valves ground/laped. Is the truck overheating at all? loss of power in 5th gear? It just doesn't add up to me. You could always check for co2/exhuast in the coolant pop the radiator cap and run it look for bubbles while its running.
