3rd gen speedhut indiglo update
Hi, I got this e-mail from speedhut and need your response.
"We have received several pictures of 01-02 toyota showing the differant warning lights.
Here is what we can do.
Option 1 have two differant group buys. 1 buy for the 99-00 toys and one for the 01-02 toys. The indiglo panels on the left and right side gauges would extend the entire dial face and the whole dial would light up if regular indiglo. We would need another cluster to now where the warning lights are exactly. Pictures wont tell us exact dimentions.
Option 2 have 1 group buy covering 99-02 toys.
Minor comprimise with this option for both groups. The problem is the warning lights on the right side for the 01-02 have as warning light where the 99-00 has part of the fuel gauge symbol. The only solution that would work for both would be the following.
(Preface- We sell our kits with the el indiglo panel and a separate dial containing the custom artwork. The indiglo el panel is installed first then the dial with artwork lays on top).
The indiglo panels on the outer gauges would extend just SLIGHTLY BEYOND the tick marks. It would end before the warning lights started. THE DIAL WITH THE ARTWORK THAT LAYS ON TOP OF THE INDIGLO WOULD EXTEND THE ENTIRE DIAL FACE. At night if your gauges were regular indiglo the part of the dial with the indiglo undernieth would light up, NOT THE PART WHERE THERE IS NO INDIGLO. If your gauges were reverse indiglo only the font lights up with the tick marks, there would be no comprimise with reverse indiglo configuration this way. 2 differant dial sets would be offered- 1 set for the 99-00 and 1 set for the 01-02. The indiglo part would be universal for both sets.
Get with your group and let us know what everyone wants to do. I might be alot easier to get the 20 orders having one group buy. On the other hand there would be a minor comprimise for the indiglo part this way."

Let me know what you would like.
Thanks

That was a little confusing to me also, but I think I just need to re-read it 10 or 12 times. I'm with Philly tho in that I want reverse indiglo, so if I'm understanding this correctly that means there won't be a problem there.

Hey sleepy. We are going to need 20 orders before they even produce a set. I think duckfan sold his Runner? so he may be out (thanks for still helping us out dude!) I count 4 here...there may be more guys on ODW? We went down to your work place today. Our newest kitten (tiny 1 pound Calico) is real sick. She's in overnight, and hopefully, she will be better tomorow. We checked this evening and she did'nt look good. Can't believe we now have 5 cats...gotta love 'em though.

To btown4runner you would need to find a speedometer cluster for your year (92) or another year if it is the EXACT same speedometer as yours and send it into speedhut. They need 20 pre-orders and then they will make them. You might want to try local junk yard places in your area for a cluster or search online. Once place online is www.taprecycling.com they might have a cluster for you. If you find a cluster and do send it into speedhut you DO NOT get the cluster back. The good news is that if you send in the cluster and you get the 20 pre-orders you get yours for free. So really you can take that off the price of what you paid to get a speedometer cluster from a junk yard. I wouldn't pay more than $200 for a cluster but that is up to you. If you have any more questions e-mail speedhut or ask me.
Thanks
