3rd Gen Speaker Size?

I am replacing my busted factory stereo and while I am at it I thought I would take a look at the stock speakers to see how they are doing. If I need to order new ones what size are the ones in the front and back doors? I assume they measure by diameter of the mounting plate right?

Click on the flashing green box at the top. It's been discussed a bunch of times...That should help you

44,

This should give you an idea. Try this link and type in your vehicle type...

http://www.crutchfield.com/cgi-bin/S...01&vehicleid=0

Use that link and you should get enough info on speakers, decks, and stereo equipment to tweek your tweeters for your 4Runner for a long time!

Hope this helps!

I want to say 6.5 fronts and 5.25 rears?

Some have shoehorned 6.5's all around. IIRC.

Need a fancier stereo to go with that fancy front suspension?

6.5in front and 4" in the rear, but I heard you can squeeze 5.25in in the rears.

Nope. I was fine with the stock junk until it crapped out on me early this past summer. I hate flashy aftermarket stereos but after months of going without I bit the bullet. I figure while I am in there I should take a look at the speakers. Unless they look real bad the stockers are staying. I don't have the money to mess with all this stuff.

I went through the same thing. Had to do it so that I could listen to some music, the hum of the MT/R's just doesn't cut it when I am driving for a couple of hours at a time.

You have no idea. I like literally have the shakes i am so excited about soon being able to listen to CDs again. I have never really been a radio fan, mainly because all my favortie music can't be found on the radio. Having nothing but the radio for 5 months has been hell for me. That crap better get here tomorrow...
