3rd gen Runner front lift
Not new to Toyota, but 1st IFS build. I've always cut those off, so this is new to me. The question I have is they say you can use the front cool/strut from 00-06 TRD Tundra trucks, but what about the 00-07 Sequoia SR5/LIMITED SUVs? Aren't they the same? Is the valving same or different ? Just wondering because the junkyard that's 2 minute away has the Sequoia. Thanks in advance. Mahalos and Aloha

Don't quote me on this but I don't believe the Sequoia's have the same coil. The TRD has a progressive spring which means that as you compress the spring it takes exponentially more force to compress it the same distance. (Example would be 500 pounds to compress from 0-1 inch of compression and an additional 550 pounds to compress from 1-2 inches). These aren't the right numbers, its just for the sake of understanding. The Sequoia's most likely use a linear spring rate coil. This means that it takes 550 pounds to compress it another inch from the previous length and it will always take 550 pounds no matter how compressed the spring is. So, the TRD springs will start out softer and quickly stiffen up while the Sequoia will have the same "Stiffness" ratio. Look up Hooke's Law on the internet.

The 2000-2007 Sequoias didn't have the TRD progressive rate coils. however, the front coil springs and shocks can be used on the 3rd gen 4Runner front. However, the the ride won't be the same when compared to the TRD coils.

Thanks people, but I got a set of free OME coils/struts from a my friends 06 Tundra. He doesn't know what # springs they are, but the free height is 15.25"s which is a 882/883 coil. Found out the N91S shocks were dead so going to get the 5100 billys.

almost ready to take the lift plunge. I've got perfectly good shocks on there now which leads me to 2 questions:
1) can one do OME medium springs (881/906) only and keep the shocks per OEM specs?
2) if yes then is the dif drop bracket necessary?
Thanks!
