Is the 3rd gen 4Runner ADD system the same/ or similair to the 2nd gen system??? Is there still a sleve in the front diff and is it still vacuum actuated or is it electronic now....

I think I may be onto something here, so I would really appriciate the help!!!

yeah theres a sleeve on the front diff. passenger side vacuum actuated. i think the 2nd & 3rd gen diffs are significantly different though according to a friend whos had both. hence the easier swap for the manual hubs ( if thats what youre thinking). not sure exactly what the difference is...i recall something different..steering maybe? this is of course youre referring to runners and not trucks/tacomas...

edit: oops..according to this link the sleeve is on the drivers side...weird on my chiltons and haynes manuals, it shows passenger side *shrug*

 

Actually Sonny... thats not at all what I was thinking ..... but a very good try..... What I am thinking is much better than that, but does not belong here... I will post it under a new topic
