3rd Gen roll bar install

I just picked up a 1st gen roll bar off ebay for dirt cheap! I've done some searching on how to install on my 3rd gen, but the posts I read weren't really clear. I was wondering what exactly needs to be done to get it to fit, I've heard that the front legs need to be cut, but I don't know how much. Other than that, I should just have to drill the holes in the cargo area and it should bolt right in, correct?

Here is a link to my thread. Cut the front legs down 2" weld some mounts back on and then slide in through back seats and drill your holes and bolt it down.

Yes. The only tricky part is getting it IN your 4Runner. I snaked it in through rear passenger door. Just be sure to have your front seats pushed up as far as they will go with both backs of the seat folded forward. This will allow more mobility to rotate the roll bar in.

I've since taken mine since to work on my cargo area and was able to take it out and put it back in by myself. Just take your time doing it.

Here's my install if needed: Roll Bar Install

I was just at "The Yota Yard" here in Denver yesterday. They have about 20 Rollbars just sitting everywhere. Sorry I didn't ask for a price.

Please do not assume you need to cut 2" off the rollbar...measure for yourself several times and then cut less than you think and test fit it. MUCH easier to cut off more later than try to add some back.

You also might want to consider an angle for the bottom of the legs to match the contour of the wheel wells.

I called them to ask...they want $100! Couple days later, I found one in perfect condition on Craigslist (here in Littleton) for $21.
Heres another one for $75.... http://denver.craigslist.org/pts/343242728.html
Try offering him $50~
