3rd gen End Link ??

Okay here is my question?
I heard a pop when I went out to lunch and then when I got home loked around fount one of my front endlink snapped. So whats the dealer cost on this part and difficulty replacing ?? Is there a better after market choice ??
Also any problem driving like that till I get a chance to work on it this weekend ??

It's easy to replace. if you want a good aftermarket part try energy suspension.
While you're at it, you'd might as well upgrade to polyurethane bushings while you're at it.
Be sure to get ones that are greasable or they'll squeek.

Is an "end link" the same as the "outer tie rod end"? I paid $44.49 for the latter from 1sttoyotaparts.com.

The dealer wants $90 for ONE without bushings, just the link. Do what I'm doing and get a set of quick disconnects for $80 TWO for the price of ONE, plus much more desierable for off roading trips.

Are you talking about part #17?

After mine broke off I replaced them with a set of Lars discos, forget the Toyota stuff-it will just break again anyway.

If you are going to get some discos, let me know. I will be ordering soon, so we can just get 2 sets shipped at once

Hey how much are the disconnects ?? not like I really need them but if there less that 90 buck may be worth it. Oh also how long to get them ?
So will it be a problem driving like this till I get it fixed ?
I going to call the dealer in the morning to ask them how much and if they got them in stock.

This is where I got mine from, they work great:

He usually has a few sets in stock. I drove mine around without the front end links, just be careful and realize the front end will feel more "loose" than usual. It is nice feeling the front suspension use all the travel independently, though.

It's completley safe for the most part, you do get alot of lean if you enter a corner to hot, but you learn to live with it, But in an emergency manover I would be scared, add any inclimate conditions to that(rain, snow, ice) and you could bet it would be one heck of a ride. There was just a post about riding w/o a sway bar and having the rear end loaded, and how the guy almost rolled his truck when he changed lanes to avoid being hit. As soon as my RIS retrun shows up I'm ordering a set of disconnects.

Ahhh.. THOSE are the endlinks.

I second the motion to replace them with a set of disconnects. I use Lars' as well - nice stuff.
