OK, it's body lift decision time for me... 1" or 2"? Here's what I want to know:
What year is your rig?
What BL did you go with (1" or 2)?
Did you have to extend anything (brake lines, etc.)?
If you had it to do over, would you go with 1" or 2?
On a related note, do I need the RB front bumper bracket for my TJM?

2. 2" Roger Brown body lift
3. Steering extension, removed lower fan shroud, need to move up ARB front bumper but I'll get to it eventually
4. Yes, 2" as I like the height and tire clearance
On the TJM, I would say no as a gut instinct as my ARB mounts completely different than the OEM bumper and I imagine the TJM is relatively the same. I have heard/read that you can just drill out the holes higher on the TJM, which is not exactly the solution on an ARB.
Good luck!

1" BL
Steering extension and front bumper bracket (stock, don't know about TJM)
I personally wouldn't go to 2" on mine, I'm happy with 1"
Don't forget on the '96, you need the 9th and 10th body mount brackets too.

1997 SR5 5spd
2" BL
Steering Extension, removed lower fan shroud, and had to bend shifter a little to the right to keep it from rubbing against the body and then a little forward to keep it from hitting the 4wd stick when in reverse.
I'm really happy with the 2", for the most part the install is the same as the 1"

1999
streering extension
bumper brackets
adjusted automatic trans linkage
droped radiator and kept radiator shroud for hot days stuck in traffic. (stuck on I40 at 5:30 over heating sucks)
I didnt use the drop brackets for the radiator I just used the factory bolts and used some holes that where already on the part that the radiator bolt to.

Like nearly everybody else:
-1997 4Runner
-2", Roger Brown
-Steering Spacer and bumper bracket (before ARB)
-Trans shifter adjustment
-If I had to do it over, I'd likely not do it and look for ways to get it out of my suspension instead.
-If I did indeed do another body lift, I'd get the 4x4 shifter extension.
Oh yeah, BROKE the fan shroud on first start. Whoops.

Before you decide how much lift, ask yourself what size tires your planning on running. When I did mine, I was running 265/75-16 BFG AT's tire O.D. 31.8", but was planning on running 315/75-16 MTR's tire O.D. 34.8". That makes a 3" difference, considering I got very minor rubbing with the BFG's I decided on a 1 1/2" lift, which is half the O.D. difference.
Had to add the steering spacer and remove the lower fan shroud, but eventually had to tear out the entire shroud after it bound up my fan out in Pismo when the lower clip fell out. I also added a spacer under the transmission mount, since I didn't want to re-do my modified shifters from the crawl box install. I then cut and rewelded the TJM bumper mount 1" higher and added additional bracing.
