3rd gen. Airlift outback & Downey 3.5 springs

Im planning on buying a outback 1000 air lift kit for my 97 4runner. I was wondering if there would be any problomes with the downey 3.5 rear springs and the bags. Anybody out there tried the airlift kit on top thier Downey 3.5 springs. I really want this kit, since it make the most sense for me to buy since I drive mostly street. Im looking to gain about a 1/2" in the rear. If you guys got pic please post. Thanks and mahalo

I installed the Airlift bags in my 96 that I had OME (3" of lift maybe 3 1/2")springs back there and also had the same questions but never really got 100% answer till I found another member here did the same things sorry can't recall his name but I am sure if you search air lift you will find it maybe. I found the secret is to cut the cone inner stops longer than the instructions show. I measured the truck level and marked the cones stops for cuting only what the airbag and spacer height was and that seemed to work for me, I didn't take any pictures along the way but I did put 2 seperate lines in so I can raise either side independent (mounted in the rear cargo area) if needed. I just air up when I know I am going to carry a heavy load or the motorcycle on my carrier back there on the hitch.

There you go my .02 Oh forgot to mention I can get about another 1" or so if I have no weight back there and air it up. I will say the rear is a little more stiff but I can live with it for what it does for me, just put the min. air pressure in it when its not loaded down.

I would think someone here may still have them laying around may want to post up and see if anyone responds or try the local yards
Oh yeah I used there spacer and airbag in the coil guess maybe you could find some tough rubber material and have it made to fit in the coils similar to the spacer they provide.

You don't need it, but whatever you want to do, I understand. I promise it will give you more than a 1/2 inch if you want it, and it doesn't have to touch anything but the inside of the springs.
