3rd gen 4runner what year dash changes?

I am trying to find the pull out cup holder in my 97. It is the one right above the A/C controls. I have seen a 2000 and it is different, which years are the same as I am needing to know what to ask for in getting my part. thanks

99-02 are the years that don't have it. try 96-98 models.

1. 96-97

2. 98 - Changed the HVAC controls to the circular ones, and changed the style of the steering wheel and column.

3. 99-02, cupholder, clock and heater vents were relocated, -SR5 models had the normal HVAC controls while the Limiteds had the digital HVAC controls.

Someone correct if I'm wrong. But to answer your question, the cupholder you're looking for is for the 96-98 4Runners.

I think 96-98 would be fine. Even though 98 got the turning-type HVAC controls, it still fit in the same total area as the 96-97 controls.

Another question now that this has been brought up. How come the 96-98 4Runners have a space between the turn indicators on the dash for the 4x4 picture that the new 99-02 ones have? It seems like they made the outline for it to be cut out, but never cut it.
