3rd Gen 4Runner Tranny Cooler Dimensions
Does anyone know how big of a tranny cooler you can fit on the 3rd Gen 4Runners? Height, width, depth is what I need to know.
I am starting to shop for a tranny cooler for my 1UZFE swap where I will be putting a auto tranny in place of my 5-speed and will need a hefty tranny cooler for it. But since my 4Runner is wrecked at the moment I cant exactly go out an measure it.
Thanks in advance!

I went a little over-kill on mine, Kragen didn't have the right one in stock so the gave me the next biggest cooler for cheap. I ended up with:
MAXI-KOOL; XL Stacked Plate; Extra Heavy Duty, 11-5/8" x 11" x 3/4
Here's a pic of it in, fit in there nice and snug...

Ah, that looks good.
What I am thinking of doing right now is put a cooler here (in the red box):
Sorry for stealing your pic.
If I put one there, It could also have a electric fan on it that I could run while Im offroad or in traffic. It would also blow some air over the A/C condensor. Do the 3rd gen. 4Runners not have a electric fan infront of the A/C condensor?
Thanks

there's a bunch of tranny cooler talk on ttora.com. there's the popular hayden 678 (i think) model like i just put on, and there another one a size up - i want to say 679 but am not sure.

Did you have to modify or cut anything to put one in that big?
I am considering this b&m cooler http://truckperformance.com/products...mber_BMR70268/
I would rather not have to cut anything to make it fit.

I just did the hayden 678 last week on mine and managed to get it mounted all the way to the left"according those pics".I ran the lines the same way down between the rad.and the cross.Sleeved everything in kevelar hyd.hose shielding.I can take a pic of it if you want, but your gonna make me pop my grill off again!

so do you think this would be sufficient size? http://truckperformance.com/products...mber_BMR70268/ or should i go a little bigger?

The hayden is 7 3/4x11x3/4 so the B&M is just 1/4" smaller.I agree w/Kevin444 the zip ties might seem a bit cheesy but they work and it's a clean look!If you search there's a write up from I think "transdude" about coolers and the different types out there.
