34R spec question

In local battery shops I have only been able to find Optima 35/75 and 34/78. The dimentions of the 35 are 9" x 63/4" x 63/4" and the 34 is the same but 1" longer, so 10". Can someone tell me the dimentions of a 34R, the ca and cca, and also tell me what a reasonable price in canadian would be. I have found the 35 for 129$ and the 34 for 149$.

I don't know the measurements off hand, but do they even make a 35R? Or are you not needed the reverse posts?

You can find all that information by looking up Optima's battery website on the web.

By 35 I meant 35/75 and by 34 I meant 34/78. I have no idea if there is a 35R.

I couldn't find info on specific batteries or any specs on the optima site. I could only find info about the different types ie. red, yellow and blue, no part #'s.

Yes it will, and I just flipped email with them to confirm it.

Mine'll be here next week.

It's a bit $$$ for a battery bracket, but given that I had to hack my stock one to work (which weakened it), and I'm running my red top on two pieces of 1/4" ply that slips, and I drive wiht my right foot and thus have to shift my battery back into position a lot, it's money spent that makes sense.

Good to know! Thanks for doing the legwork Midi I really like the look of it and as you said, I have wood on top of mine, so getting that out of there and having a cool looking bracket to boot is worth it IMO.

My battery terminals are another issue though. I'll post some pics of what i had to do to fix them on the other Optima 34R thread.

And...

I got my bracket yesterday and put it on this morning.

I'm quite happy - my redtop ain't goin' nowhere anymore!

Click for larger pics

Old, old & new, new and new!

(the green cricle in the first pic shows a slice I had made in the original bracket in order for it to sit onto the Optima at all - not really safe)

For reference, this is the ENOffRoad bracket. From a post on the national TTORA board:

The main body is made from 16ga cold rolled steel, that has been dimpled to reduce weight, add strength, and a little style. The body is then welded to 1/8" thick side rails and 16ga angle steel to hold the battery from sliding around.

They come raw finished and are available for $36 shipped to the lower 48 states. If interested contact me at enroffroad@cox.net
Quick shipping, great communication, excellent transaction.
