33" Tires on My Taco

AWWWRIIIHGGHHHTHTHTTTT!!!

I think it has to do with the way the fenders are shaped but the fronts look bigger then the rears..

Oh, And I think everyone over- exagerates gearing..

No rubbing, Except for the front left fender lining, Got that out with some kitchen shears..
We'll see if it rubs any this weekend..

Tires looks great! I just got the same ones mounted up. Mine have yet to see dirt. Let us know how this weekend goes. Wish I could make it!

I somewhat agree with your statement about regearing. My 86 actually does ok even on hills and freeway, I just have to rev it a lot higher now. However, I'm still planning to regear to 4.88s. The main reason is that I feel like I'm killing my clutch any time I start from a dead stop on an incline. Even a small incline, like a driveway, requires some clutch abuse in order to prevent stalling. just my two cents

Looks good! Do yourself a favor if you haven't already and take out the rear fender well splash guards as I can guarantee when you are fully stuffed it will rub and sound like death. As for the gearing, it may be driveable with the 33's, but when you go from driving around with stock gears and 33's to 4.88's for 33's, you'll know your money was well spent. You can tell the difference ALOT offroad on steep inclines as well. You will be happy with money spent on gears and I would definitely say they are not "overrated."

Looks great! What gears are in it, 3 somethin's?

Are your windows tinted or is it the glare?

Oh yea, you should paint your wheels black haha.

very cool Scuba...now get rid of those rear mudflaps before the they fall off on the trail and give the Tree Huggers more ammo for closing trails

I get what your saying, But if im planning on 35's as my next tire size...Idk if regearing now will be a smart move..
But we will see..

I wheeled last week with my old tires, Still havent washed it

The rear has settled down a bit after a few loads, It looks just level. I do anticipate its gonna settle a bit in the rear then it will be time for some longer shackles to bring it back up where I like it.. No biggie

Titles are for future searchers. If you want a jibberish title post in "Off Topic", not the tech forum.

How much overall lift do you have? Id like to step up from the 31's but Im not sure about fitment. I have 3.5" all the way around (Fabtech coil overs, stock leafpack)

Here is my numbers I gained from my lift (specs in sig)

D/F : 2.25"
D/R : 5.25"
P/F : 3.25"
P/R : 5.25"

The rear is a bit exagerated as I probably only gained 3" over stock but my rears were sagging like a biotch..

Im going to say youll be fine to fit 33's..

Sweet. I'm sure you'll enjoy the added traction and piece of mind with some nice tires like that.

I never had a problem with the bfg AT's.. IMO they are pretty tuff tires also..
But these things are pretty beef..
