if i saw that, i wouldn't put a lot of faith in the belt holding on to get me to my destinations... a new belt will be night and day in appearance. for me it's all about reliability (or the belief it's going to get me places). If i can't trust it, i ain't drivin' it

Replace it with a timing belt kit from AirCabinMan on eBay (excellent price, Toyota OEM parts) and you'll be good for another 90k miles.

At best it was replaced at 90 or 100K miles, if so it's almost ready for a new belt. Worst case that belt is original. Either way, it's ready to be replaced. It's a non-interference motor, so no damage if it does break on you, but you will be stranded...

Yes, on the water pump........well, just.....

Buy this:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Toyota-TIMIN...4a37e8&vxp=mtr

or this (less Toyota boxes/bags, but OEM brands as above):
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Toyota-3-4L-...f69ef0&vxp=mtr

and buy a crank bolt from your local Toyota dealer ($10 or so) and a gallon of Toyota Red coolant...

make up this nifty crank/cam holding SST:

and then.......

Follow this excellent write-up:
http://home.centurytel.net/stevenjac...lt/timing.html

Be sure to torque the crank bolt to 217 ft-lbs!
