ERG Valve????? Sometimes if you are getting that hesitation under acceleration it is because the EGR system is not shutting off. On the other hand if it is the EGR your truck should not being idling smoothly.
You can do a test to see if it is the EGR valve. (this is strait from the Haynes manual). With the truck running, disconnect the vacuum hose from the EGR valvle and connect it to a vacuum pump, apply a vacuum directly to the EGR valve, the truck should run rough or stall, if it doesn't than it is suspect.
Just another thing to rule out?
Hope you find the problem.

Update!! My previous mechanic apparently didnt know what he was doing..He said it had zero compression..My new Toyota mechanic said it had 140..which isn't great but its better than zero...so it uses oil and it smokes the first 5 minutes of driving..i can live with that for a while..Now for the hesitation problem. I unplugged my new O2 sensor and now the #5 cylinder is getting fire and it runs like a dream. I tried two O2 sensors with no CEL light and continued to have the hesitation..so I'm guessing its a wiring problem or something..so I'm leaving it unplugged and driving the hell out of it!!!

and he said if he had to re-ring the pistons he wouldnt warranty it beacuse of the way my truck was built for offroad.... basterd
