Going to get a new exhaust and dynomax muffler installed in the morning on a 01 prerunner, just curious is if should go 2.5" single in and out or 2.25", just dont wanna go too big.

From what I read, 2.5 will give you more power in the higher RPM's but you will lose a bit of low end torque. When I purchase my Dynomax, I plan on staying with stock size exhaust.

2.25" is a good size for a stock engine without headers. If you are going to add headers and/or the Supercharger, I say go with 2.5". Get a pre-made system with mandrel bends and install it yourself, or find a shop that can do mandrel bends. If a shop tells you that mandrel bends don't matter, find a different shop.

Got over there this morning and the diamter was actually 2.5", so i had em but a single in single out 2.5" race magnum from Dynomax and it sounds pretty good for anyone considering one. Deep, mellow, and not to loud.

You are talking about the OD, right? I was referring to the ID measurement of the exhaust pipe size.

Glad you found something you like.

Peace.
