Hello, I was just reading your post and I seem to have a similar problem. At certain RPMs, appears to be between 2000-3000 it will surge with very little gas, but if I let off just a little the power just drops(jerking all passengers forward). I adjusted the TPS and got all the correct numbers but no change in the strange behavior. I'm not trying to highjack your thread! but I think we both have the same problem. I also cleaned the TB, now I'm wondering if the dashpot is the culprit. Any ideas? Thanks!

Ok, I just put a new TPS on the rig and problem solved, no more surging or cutting out. Even though my old TPS read correctly on the meter if must not have been working correctly. SD, I believe you had the correct reading, if you were getting 20 on the 200 setting, that's what I ended up getting on mine as well, its below the 2.3K as stated on the web, and I have the same numbers in my Haynes manual. One thing mentioned in the Haynes is that you can get similar problems with a faulty EGR valve.

glad to hear the tps took care of that problem, mine hasn't hung up at a higher idle since the new one's been in... but it'll still shoot up 400 or so rpm's when giving it a slight bit of gas in neutral.

I"m thinking it's the dashpot, and my haynes manual tells me how to test it but not what "the specified" setting is for it.. lol
