3.0 mods

I am starting to rebuild my 3.0 from an 88 4 Runner (doesn't work without oil ) and I want to make sure I don't miss any good ideas. So if anyone has any ideas I would greatly appreciate hearing them. I know that intake and exhaust are concerns I have heard and I read a great write up on this site about Downey headers but I have also read contradictory reports on other sites. Give me all you got guys and girls. I am pretty sure I am doing a rebuild and not a swap for cost control and it sounds like I can get the 3.0 to purr pretty good.

larger valves seems to help the motor a bit from word of mouth...

DOA has cams, heads, and overbored TBs....

Dan is putting 3vzfe heads (24v) on his 3vze (12v) bottom end for increased flow. Expected same bottom end torque with much higher Hp and torque as you wind up the gears....
