3.0 with 3.4 power? Build up in progress - donations needed!!

the whole point of dan's venture is to see what the 3.0 can do with a proper setup, so the 7mgte isn't really an option. Since a lot of guys here have the 3.0 it'll be nice to see what can be done.

Now as far as TRD making goodies for engines that they don't sell to the general public. Those would only be goodies for a few engines....."UZ" engines(V8s), the new V8 they are using for Craftsman Truck series (which is suppose to be released to the public at some point), 2JZ, 3/5S and 4A.....well, and whatever V6 they use in the Celicas in the Goodyear cup, I'd think the 1MZ. Those are the only engines that Toyota uses for racing other than the special ones for like F1, etc.

Back to some earlier comments made about the 7m swap.
The 7M makes a little less torque than a 3.0 V6. Pump up the boost, with some washers, and it will have more.
The 7M is not required to run expensive gas, only if you want to increase the power.
The 7M makes more low end torque than a 22RE.
Most High mileage 7M's I have seen, only needed a new HG and rod bearings. I can change both in about 4 hours for $120. Good for another 150K miles
This has been proven by the multiple swaps I have done.

Hi everybody!
Happy Thanksgiving to all. Has anyone heard anything from Dan on the conversion. I am in Buffalo New York and its just a matter of time before the snow flys. I need to make a decision on what to do with my 3.0 w/ blown head gasket. This conversion was my best option, now I don't know what to do. Any help or suggestions are appreciated. Dan, just let me know that you are still out there.
Thanks

"hey dan, haven't seen you @yotatech in a long time, i am very interested and i'm sure other members would be in an up date on the hybrid motor any news."
just emailed this to dan, maybe we need to motivate him.
I know this thread is old but i would still like to know if this camry head swap will work.

well im not sure, but his last stumbling block was that the upper coolant intake/outflow (not sure which) wasnt mating up...
As we know, the 3vze's upper coolant intake/outflow opening, bolts to the lower intake runners AND has on it the timing belt idler that goes between the cam wheels.
The 5vze's lower intake cannot be bolted to the 3vze's coolant intake/outflow piece AND the idler is separate in the 5vze. Since 5vze intake runners must be used on the camry heads this poses a problem.
How do you keep the idler in place for the timing belt and hook up the upper coolant line to the engine. In the scheme of things this is only a minor problem that might require a specially made/machined part or adaptor...i think.
But I too would love to find out the resolution to this head swap was..

i already know the answer to this one

Something I've been wondering for a long time, anytime I bring this up with 3vz-e people around here.
How on earth is the stock 3vz-e ECU going to deal with the newly found 40-70hp from the new heads? Hope yall are runnng an SMT or something.

Since this thing kinda died I think I'm going to try to take over where dan left off. I gotta warn you guys this will not be a quickly finished project since I am a college student with little cash. The parts I plan on getting are 7mge afm, 3vz-fe heads, 3vz-fe rebuild kit with pistons, 3vz block, 5vz intake manifold. So as you can see this will take some cash it will be slow, maybe I can talk my parents into helping out since a rebuild will make the car last longer. I want the block so I can just swap in the new engine and have the least downtime possible. If anyone has any of these parts they are willing to trade or sell cheap or have hookups on, let me know. Thanks.
