2nd gen sag and a lift?
My 95 4Runner has just a little bit of that famous "butt sag". Either it isn't as bad in person as it looks on pictures online, or mine is just less saggy than most. At any rate, it's a problem I'd like to fix eventually...
BUT...
I'm also thinking about having my Runner lifted at some point. I know enough about basic mechanical maintenance to get by, but I'm not too knowledgable about lift kits and coils. Is there a way to kill two birds with one stone here, or are these completely seperate issues?
I'd assume it's the latter, but I figure that it couldn't hurt to ask.
Thanks,
-Keith

If you do a suspension lift your going to get new longer coils. You can always sell your aftermarket coils if you go that route now to cure your sag.

I was originally looking ordering a 1" to 2" body lift from Roger Brown, but then I started thinking about the sag and thought maybe I could get new springs/coils in both the front and back that would be larger. I don't really know if that'd work or not. I tried doing a search and I learned all kinds of stuff, but not the answer to my specific question. Can new coils or springs compensate for the sag and give me about a 1" lift? I don't want a huge monster truck lookin lift...
= )
Thanks again ya'll

Downey HD coils will give you just under 2" in the rear. I did that and didn't touch the front but others have had to crank their T-bars 1/2" or so to keep the rear from being too high. Check this out to see what's involved and some before and after pics.
