2nd Gen Owners Unite: Amsoil

Email Amsoil right now and tell them you want an air filter for your rig. I just did. We will not be denied!

It's us against them:

I hope something becomes of this.
I talked to them on the tele a few years back and they told me the shape of our filters was to hard to copy.

It would be nice.
I'll email them tomorrow.
Come on 3.0 dudes & dudetts, drop 'em an email on this.

Well that gives me an idea Mike. Everyone can help us out. All you 1st gens can email them and tell them you bought you rig in 90-95 and tell them you need a filter. Nothing more nothing less. You 3rd gen and other kids could just lie.

You guys might want to try other boards too, the more responses they get, the more they will be inclined to make one.

I e-mailed them yesterday, and I got a response this morning, I'll just cut and paste the response from them...

We do offer an air filter for the 4-cylinder engine, the TS-117 AMSOIL foam air filter. The demand for an air filter for the 6-cylinder is not enough to produce this filter for inventory purpose. If you own a 6-cylinder model, we would provide you with a price quote in producing foam filters for you, if you are interested in special ordering 50 or more air filters. In order to so, we do require a sample filter. If you have any further questions or comments, please feel free to contact us. We certainly appreciate your interest into an AMSOIL foam air filter.
So yeah we definitely need to Unite and tell them that there IS a demand for the airfilters for a 6-Cylinder

I got an email from Amsoil that basically said send us a sample filter and we will let you know how many 50+ will be. I'll send off my old filter Tuesday and see what happens! Looks like I might become a Amsoil dealer.

Amsoil guy, Mark, was wondering why they keept getting the same question over and over.

Mike did you get an email like this. Maybe you could deal them. (BTW,I'm about ready for my springs)

Update

Sam, I just got an email from Amsoil.

Corey,

We can make this filter, but it is a special order. We need to have a prepaid minimum order of 50. If the members of your forum want to pitch in and assign someone to order and distribute these filters, we can then proceed from there.

Thanks,
Ed K
Tech Services
So, there you have it. Sam, after you send them in a filter, we will need to asign someone on the forum here to send our moola to, then they in turn will have to distibute them to us.
That means shipping.
I know these will sell. I have been wanting one for a long time.

It's a lot of work sending them out to members.
Do we even have 50 3.0 V6 owners?
I'd like to see this happen.

If you , or someone else would like to take charge on the setup of this, that would be great.
Perhaps Mike (Xtreme) can become a reseller of these?

Corey

Hey guys, I just got off the phone with them, they are going to look into some costs and get back to me. I am impressed with their willingness to help us all out and I think it says a lot about their operation. I will be back in touch with you guy AS SOON as I hear something!

I think we can do this, hopefully the demand with make it possible!

Sweet!

One way or another. Again, I'll send off my filter asap, Tuesday latest. Lets all keep each other informed.

Anyone get a address for the filter sample. I emailed, but nothing yet. You can email it to me or post it.
