22RE starting problem

22RE starting problem
I have two different problems with my 94 Pickup 22RE when I try to start it.
First, when the truck is warm, like if I drive to a store and go in for a few minutes, when I come back out and start the truck, it will actually start fine, but the truck will feel like it has no problem, like its constricted by something. If I cut the truck off and start it right back up, it will usually go away. I have NO CLUE on what would cause this.
Secondly, every few days when I go out and start the truck up, it will turn over fine, but when it starts up, the engine will idle a low and be shaky, like its not getting enough gas. If I rev the engine up, it gets better, but its still not right. The truck will drive fine though after that.
I do have one trouble code that may have something to do with that and its Code 71, EGR system. I replaced the EGR valve with a different used one, but the code continues to come back. Anyone know what usually causes code 71?

If it is EGR related, maybe the EGR is stuck open by the vacuum source. If you have a repair manual, it should tell you how to check it. I think you attach a vacuum gauge to the EGR hose and rev the engine and see what it does. Some times it should have vacuum and other times it will not. Maybe try disconnecting and plugging the EGR vacuum line and see what it does.

Here is some information on the idle air control valve for your year of truck:
