22RE question
How tight are the shiny bolts on the top of a 22RE engine supposed to be?
The red-circled ones I can spin with my fingers, the yellow ones I cannot. Is this normal? How tight should they be?

Torque Wrench. Everybody should have one of these if you plan on doing a decent amount of work to your vehicle. If you look in any repair manual every bolt will have a different torque. If you pay attention to these and use a torque wrench you should reduce bolts breaking, warping, and stripping. You can probably pic one up for $20 bucks.

It looks like those are the valve cover bolts. If they are not tight you will leak oil and maybe loose a little vacuum. It's no big deal though, tighten them to the specs and you should be good if it leaks put a little p-tex on the rubber seal, especially near the end half-moon gromets. You may be right My99 it could be 10ft/lbs, its been a while.

Cool, thanks guys. I had noticed it leaking a little more oil the past week or so. Good to know My trucks not dying.
So I got a torque wrench, anybody know how many ft lbs they're supposed to be? How/ where to find out?
