22re intake

can i see pics of ppl that have either stock or modified air intake systems on 22re's, thx

I put a generic K&N on my 22re. Just removed the stock intake box and replaced it with the cone filter.




I've been wanting to switch the filter with the batt so the intake doesn't have to cut across the rad, but I have yet to do that. In my short research back when I looked this up I recall somebody had done it and said it was quite easy, as all the mount points are there.

whats the box do right before the air filter, i know it has a little lever that allows a certian amount of air in, is it like an electronic choke?

Its a mass air flow sensor that adjusts the air fuel mixture via the computer when driving at freeway speeds I believe.

so if i eventually do the ECT mod it will affect this piece and thus tell the coomputer to advance the timing? i think thats what i mean.

did u just plug that hose with something? or what did u do?

It's a generic crankcase filter breather. I didn't want it sucking in huge particles... but I'm too cheap to get the trick air filter for it.

BTW, this is not CARB legal so I have to change it back to the airbox in order to pass smog.
