2003 4Runner is On-line

I just checked out the 2003 4Runner V8 Sport Edition at the local dealer. I parked my truck side by side with the '03 and it seems like the '03 is couple inches longer and wider but UGLIER and has a lower ground clearance (9.1 to 11.0). very ugly fender flare and running board.
THe sticker price for that one is 36800. The interior looks nice, i sat in it and it feel more spacing in there eventhough only a couple inches wider. The seats are more comfy, nice stereo system with JBL speakers and a bigger tweeters. I love the door handle and no key-lock on the pass. side, 4 wheels ABS DISC (nice) with 265/65/17. nice roof rack.......

I don't like it. Must wait to see the Limited edition, maybe it looks better and it starting aroung $41K (I'll go for the GX470 instead)

Go online to check it out.

dropped off gf to pick up her 03' corolla s from the dealer for some last minute scratch touch up and saw 3 4runners on the lot.
Lets just say, it doesnt catch my attention as much as the previous 4 runners.
It does look a lot roomier inside but lower ground clearance.
I have to agree that the rubber/plastic looking fenders and running boards gotz to GO!

Nice gauges though.

SR5 version comes with 265/70/16 with FULL size spare and can be upgraded to 265/65/17, NICE but I don't like the RIM, it looks cheap to me.

The fuel tank is bigger 23 Gal, V6 version requires Premium Unleaded while V8 does not, weird, huh??????????

I checked out my local dealer and all they have is one SR5 2wd, price was $31,700. Actually looks smaller than an 2002 that was near by. I thought Toyota said they would keep the price down.

I went to my dealer last night to pick up the deposit I left for a 2003 Sports. No way in hell I'll pay 34k (or 44k CAD) for a truck with plastic bumbers.

Considering the amount of money this purchase represents I think that at least I should be terribly proud of my ride, I should be able to look at it in my driveway and go "wow" day after day.

To some extent I could be proud of the Limited version but paying 40k to get what I want is too much. Simply can't afford it.

Aside from terrible looks, I'm sure that it will ride nicely and that it will be typical Toyota value.

I'll let a couple of years pass before making a move for a 4runner. Its no no big deal..... patience is the mother of all virtue....

Good luck to 03 buyers and enjoy !!!!
