2001 stereo in a 1997 truck?
Has anyone ever tried this?
My wife's '97 4runner has the factory 3 disc changer and cassette deck.
Its pretty rough and barely works, makes alot of noise etc.
I found a double din Cd/ cassette deck out of an 01 model for dirt cheap and was wondering how hard it will be to wire this one into the 97.
Do they make an adaptor or will I have to make my own harness / take it to a radio shop. I don't expect the mounting to be an issue.
Before you ask....I did a quick search and found nothing, so if there is already a thread, sorry, please link me to it.

Pretty sure the plugs are the same. Mounting brackets might be different, but those just take a few screws to take off. The brackets can be moved from deck to deck.
