2001 Leather Seat Upgrade.....PLEASE HELP

Recently I bought leather power seats for my 2001 4Runner. My old seats were cloth manual seats. I spliced the three wires from both plugs together but they do not power the seats. The seat belt sensor works however. Any suggestions on how to get the seats moving??

I guess you have the right wires going to the right places since your ground and seat light work. I believe the power seat wire is blue, but that was from a '99 Limited.

My pimp-adjustment (back of the seat) motor was frozen on one side so I removed the cover, pushed the button, and lightly hit the motor with a screw driver until it started working.

Also, make sure you have the blue (or whatever it is) wire fused so it is getting it's own power. I think I used the dome light fuse (15). I haven't had a single problem out of my swap. Hope yours works out as well.

I did the same thing on my 2000, though I had a friend hook them up for me, the person who did it is a Toyota tech so they had access to the wiring before they hooked them up. He did not say why, and I didn't ask, but he had to take the power from the window line instead of the power that was there. Mine is a base model and therefore was not pre wired for the power seats which may have been the reason. Perhaps the wires you are using are not supplying adequate power?

Mine is (was) base model as well, window vs. dome light is just a matter of what fuse you want to pick that day.

I think his seats are working now.
