2001 Dial Cluster in a 1997?

4Runner 3rd generation model
Has anyone tried to a fit 2001 speedo/rev instrument cluster in a 1997? Are the electrical connections compatible??

I haven't seen anyone on here do it lately, but you might try contacting Jason over at Burtman Industries and see if he's seen anyone do something like that. It's not very common I can definately tell you that much. Usually people ask about changing over to the digital climate controls like they have on the limiteds.

I dont think its compatible, because a 97 has the manual roller odometer, while the 99+ have the electronic odometer, and a few changes to the layout of the cluster.

if you need to look for a replacement for your truck use one from a 97 or 98.
