Anyone know where I can get a rear license plate surround that is chrome that fits on a 2001-2002 4runner? I would be willing to trade my painted dark silver one for it if somebody wanted to trade but I am wondering if anyonw knows where I can find one. Thanks

 

two words... your dealer. or, PM "TOR" - he's a member here and can get you decent pricing. either that, or search the car part websites on the net and order one for a 02 with chrome package. you won't find one in a salvage yard easily since they are so rare...

BTW: the surround on your 97 is not the same design as the one's on 99+ runners. You will also need to buy a new "4Runner" emblem for your gate @ ~$40 from your dealer as well. I'm not even sure if it will fit or not...

 

The only problem is you can't really put a new emblem on the new chrome surround. You would have a chrome "4runner" emblem on the chrome surround which wouldn't look right.

 

But you can put the chrome emblem on the paint like on the 99+ runners...

I have black pearl emblems and probabbly wouldn't put them on the chrome. But does it actually fit? And also does anyone know how much this would cost from the dealer? Probabbly some ridiculous price but I have not found it on the net.

 

Cool. It DOES fit. WHen I priced it, I think it was about $130. It's plastic chrome plated like your front grille.

Id like to get one of those chrome surrounds for mine too. I want to update my rear hatch with a Jaos spoiler, chrome surround and 2001+ tails. I havent been lucky on finding the tails though. I dont think I want to pay dealer prices for them either.

 

I know a guy in Hawaii that has some 2001 tails he will need to get rid of. He bought altezza's from me, to replace his stocks. If you want his contact info, shoot me an email. Ohh, jaos rear spoiler is now on the new site!
