2000 toyota tacoma ECT button?

What does this button really do?? I'm new to this truck thing and was wondering what it is. Thanks in advance.

its engages the super duper charger.


LOL jk. It stands for electronic controlled transmission? It changes the shift points to higher revs.

use it whenever you want. some people leave it on. Do a search for ECT button.

Ejection control transponder. make sure your seat is in the full upright position when driving with it on. Do a search, there are seveeral writeups about how it works.

HAHAHA..now thats funny.

Ive found that having ECT on drives better (im on 33's) in general, esp starting from stand still. Maaybe a slightly better MPG, but not much. Its just not as sluggish with it on.
