2000 SR5 factory speakers

I did a lot of searching in the forums but couldn't find out what make the factory speakers are...lots of threads on the size and what you can fit into the door moldings...but I couldn't find anything on the make of the speakers themselves....

Pull the door panel and looksee!
You may want to consider replacing them as the sound quality isn't particularly great.
I replaced mine and think i have the old ones in the garage, i'll check the make tonight.

mine is a 99, the speakers I took out were skinny Panasonics with cardboard shells. Sounds much better now with my Polks and Basslink bumpin the dog out back.

Is there that much of a difference between the 2000 and the 1999 4runner sound systems stock?

My moms 99' limited 4runner sounds awesome in my opinion. I assume they are stock but who knows about the previous owner. Maybe there is a difference between them because it is limited?

Well anything sounds better than my 4runner with the wimpy 4" JBL's up front and the 5 1/4 stock out back. good speakers, just doesn't get loud enough imo

I fried the factory amp and lost sound to the rear speakers. I put in a Pioneer that light up green to match the rest of the interior lights. I put some Pioneer 6 inch up front, Boston Acoustic 5.25 in the rear and a Basslink. Everyone likes how clean it sounds. Has some good thump (not the crappy everything rattles and all you hear is bass) the factory tweeters fill in great now with the aftermarket head unit. still deciding if I want to add tweeters to the rear doors though.

After I installed my new deck, the factory speakers sound way better. That factory amp looks like its pretty weak.

Wait, the one in the 99' that i think sounds good? Her's is stock.

Mine is a 1990 and doesn't get very loud, i mean loud enough, i think it has to do with the small speakers. This one has an aftermarket sony with 10disc changer.

Checked and there is no manufacturer stated.
Don't know if this helps:
4 Ohmns 20W
Part # 86160-35090
Sure is a skinny magnet!
