2000 4Runner Aluminum Skid Plate

Hi all,

I've seen 4runners with the front skid plate.
Do you know if they make it for a 2000 SR5.??
I would really like one in my car.

TIA,

Yeah, that one is a Tacoma skid plate.

Here's another good thread on the subject:

Are you refering to the small perferated one that sits just below the front bumper on the, I think, 2002 4Runners?

Yeh they will fit w/o any modification. Just get the one for the Tacoma. They bolt up to where your "tow hooks" go in the front along the frame rails.

Be aware that they are are simply for aesthetics and offer no protection.

If you can get the brackets from an actual '02 plate it will bolt right up and fit the "fatlip" bumper but if you get the Tacoma brackets you'lleed to fabricate very simple brackets to extend the plate 3" or it sits under and too far back to even see under the newer bumpers. I preferred modding the Tacoma brackets since my plate hugs the curve of the bumper perfectly with maybe a millimeter or two of clearance while the actual '02 Runner brackets move the plate out another inch or so and it sits almost 2" lower and is just increases the chances of it being damaged by anything you might hit.
The modded version looks better IMO.
