2000 4runner 2wd front brakes (autozone)
im getting ready to replace the front brakes again on my sisters 4runner and last time i replaced them i had to get brakes for a 2003 4runner 2wd to work on the 2000 4runner 2wd and this is from autozone. i beleive kragens called for the 2003 too to fit on the 00 4runner. anyone expereince this? either someone upgraded or replaced the front brake system to a 03 or autozone and kragens computers are wrong. i also had the same issue looking for the trans filter too. thanks

Just make sure you have your rotors turned if they are turnable.
Some place like to haggel with you about warranty if they not turned or replaced.
How long ago did you replace the pads?

I've gotten autozone brake pads myself, never really had a problem as far as the part fitment but now am fed up with them and their know-it-all employees.

Autozone - Performance Friction
Autozone -
If you can find the Performance Friction PN 5024 pads. These are for a '96 Landcruiser, but fit just fine on my '99 4Runner. I started using these when I found out that these are the TRD pads, as PF makes the TRD pads.
The differences being:
1. The PF pads cost me $27.99 at Autozone a couple of years ago
2. Autozone will replace them free if I wear them out.
Steve.

Most accurate way to tell is the 10th digit of the VIN number. Going by the door jamb for year will net you wrong parts for the year after. Made a few mistakes from that myself when getting customer's parts.
