200 bones for plugs and wires

Trying to follow the warranty that I have from the dealership on my 2000 4runner (warranties on the engine and transmission). I'd fiqured I'll see what it cost to change the spark plugs and wires out. Service manager estimated 200 bones for plugs and wires, which I find to be a complete joke and said screw it. Looks like I'll be doing those myself and screw the warranty on that end.

Good job. You should absolutely do it youself. It's not that hard and you'll save a bunch of money.

$200? That's ridiculous.

That's almost half of the cost of the Major Services they offer at the dealers - something is wrong with that.

How much are plug wires alone? My dealer told me I should change it on next service.

I dunno... I went to change the wires on my 3VZE and found them to be over $70 from my local suppliers. Gotta call the dealer in the morning, but if that's correct, plus plugs, and an hour to put it together $200 might not be out of line.

Gotta pay for that fancy dealership somehow...

It's the reason why I'm hesitate to take my car to the stealership for any type of work.

I'll definitely be taking care of this myself.

I have Denso Iridium plugs in there now, I checked sparkplugs.com, but don't know whether should use Denso, NGK or OEM? Although OEM I think cost more.

OEM wire 19037-62010 Cord Set $45.44.

Denso/NGK/OEM are all pretty much the same thing.

I would go to www.urdusa.com to get them.
Great prices, great company and you're giving your business to a YotaTech'er.
Plus, you know you're getting OEM quality - that's all they sell.

Ha, my bad.
You can get the plugs from them and then the wires from wherever.

You might email them and ask about the wires - they could probably get them for you.
