Sad Day.... not long after my 210K mark, rookie mechanic blew motor after a timing belt change

So now I have a motor from Putney on the way... starting all over again, it's bitter sweet.

My 2000 Tacoma only had 43000mi on it when she swallowed about 5 gallons of water..... 2.7l replaced at that low of mileage... Now THAT takes some skill.... I dont think i even belong on this thread...lol

We bought our 00 4Runner sport with 71k on it in 2002. Now it's got 221k on it. Still runs, drives, and looks like it did when we bought it. But I have done a bunch of work to it in the last 70k miles or so. Last week we just bought a 2011 Venza and I hope we have similar luck with that. But I am finding it rather tough to sell the 4Runner with high miles. For years we have had people wanting us to let them know when we were ready to sell it. Although now that we want to sell it and they find out it's over 200k nobody wants it. I was tempted to just keep it and sell my doublecab Tacoma but I do find myself needing the bed quite frequently.

300,000+ on the original 3vze in my 4 runner which is also my first car. The engine was rebuilt last summer not because it didn't run or wasn't reliable. It had lost a lot of compression on all cylinders. I don't know why I replaced it with the 3.slow. I wish I would have used a 22r (I don't want fuel injection). Now I am debating whether to sell it and rebuild an FJ40 or start to make the 4runner into more of an off road vehicle. If I went with the FJ40 I think I would put a 22r in it with 20r heads (I know that is a weird combo but I really don't want to use a chevy engine in a toyota)

215k on my 96 yota 4runner SR5 V6. Still runs strong with lots of power. Just did front brakes. Calips, pads, rotors. Had a sticking Calip and a warped rotor. Drives so smooth now. Feels like new. Gotta dump more maintenance money into it to keep her alive.
