265/70/16's.
I just measure, from thr ground up they are like (measured the spare, its the only full tread tire on the truck) 30 ish inches.... there is still almost 3" of room arond them in the wheel wells, there is no reason I shouldn't be able to fit 31's in there right?

What about 32's?
Whats the metric equivalent of a 31? 32? anything in between?

You should be able to fit 265/75R16s just fine (which are 31.6 ~ or about 32").

BFG All-Terrains are spendy, but in my opinion they are the best all round tire.

May be a dumb question here, but what is the tire load rating on your rig now? A? B? C? D? E? the heaver the load rating the or further down the alphabet E=10 ply tire it will be a noisy tire but will take a beating You may find some in a F ply. Don't know if that size will be avab. TJ.

OEM tires are a P tire, which is usually a B load range. C is about as tough as you need to go on these rigs, thou many of the common sizes like 285 are only available in D. The tires are stonger, but also much stiffer which is why OEM tires are P tires, they ride tons better than LT tires. 3/4 and 1 ton rigs come with Load Range E tires.

if your looking for cheap mud tires, wal-mart carries contintal super sports which wear pretty good, and are pretty aggressive offroad, the only down fall is that they are a bit noisy on the street, my buddy runs them on his frontier and he loves them, plus its wal-mart you can take anything back. yeah you should have no problems running 265 75 16

Thanks guys! I did settle on the Kuhmo Road Venture A/T's in a 265/75/16 variety. $92.00 a tire, $235 for the pair mount balance (lifetime balance) and the orad hazard warranty. I'll let you know what I think.

I hope I misunderstood what you said but did you only get 2 tires? If so, don't run it in 4WD until you get the other 2 that match. Going up in size almost 2" on one end can put your drive train in quite a bind if you run it in 4WD like that. Again, hope I misunderstood...

EDIT - I forgot you had a prerunner so I guess it's a 2wd so you're good. You just don't want to run mismatched tires on a 4wd.

yeah, theres really only about an inch of difference in the two tires, so only .5 inch between the ground and rim, and its a prerunner anyway, so I am good to go. I'm getting the other two in about a month. Tires were ALMOST worn out, but I had two flats, so went ahead and replaced those two, with the other two soon to come.
