2" or 3" rear springs?

So after 3 years of the sagging @ss, I've finally had it. I'm going to replace the rear springs, but I don't know which ones to get. Downey has both 2" and 3" springs. After measuring, the front has about 7" of space from the top of the outside fender to the top of the tire (brand new BFG M/T 31's) while the back only has 4" of space.

Logically the 3" rear coils would balance it out, but I'm concerned about the front dropping slightly after the rears are installed, kind of like a balance thing... One side goes up, the other goes down. Anyone know if this would happen?

The space in the wheel wells will not be even front and back if the car is level, just the way it's designed. I have the Performance Products springs which 1" of lift and the back sits higher than the front slightly, but the front wheel wells have more clearance. with the 2 or 3" springs you'll need to raise the front too to level it out. Hope this helps.

What he said

One way to tell if the 4runner is level is by the line that the top of the fender opening makes. If that is parallel to the ground, then it is level. If the front edge is lower, then it is stink bug. If the rear is lower then you have a so-cal prerunner. I have mine sitting slightly stink bug, which means that the fender opening is not parallel to the ground, but it does not bother me. I would recommend the 2" spring. I think it will look good. If you need to level it, the front always has torsion bars which can be adjusted alittle bit.

Just got our Downey 2" springs in the mail, one day after I ordered them.
Now I have something to do this weekend.
