1st gen deckplate mod?

the way the airbox is made up, it splits right in half, taking out any idea of a deckplate...perhaps i can swap in a 2nd or 3rd gen box in there? but then what about the MAF sensor? id really like to experiment, but right now i need to finish up my rebuild. hopefully, tonight.

A 2nd Gen box doesn't lend itself to the deckplate mod. You could try the 3rd Gen, but it might be tough to mount since it is on the opposite side of the engine from the 1st and 2nd Gens.

Maybe a snorkel would help? Definately would help in the cool factor department.

about the opposite side of the engine, theres several write-ups floating around about batt. and airbox relocation/ placement swaps. So putting it on passenger side wouldnt be too much of a pain, plus keep the induction tube away from the heat of the block. And yeah, the snorkel would def. be cool...something else to look into.
