1998 SR5 Blower Motor Noise

I have a 1998 SR5 in which I just placed the blower motor resistor. All speeds now work but there is noise coming from the blower...sounds like debris of some sort.
As you increase the speed the noise gets louder, sounds like clicking. While it is functional the noise is very annoying.
I have seen some threads about this repair/clean job but all of the pictures do not seem to show up.
Can anyone help or is the answer just a new blower motor? Thanks.

if there is a diy way to fix it let me know.
as a toyota tech, i have replaced a ton of these, idk whats up with toyota but i just recently ordered a new one for a 2010/11 4runner. imo you can just leave it and turn up the radio. after hearing so many of these, it comes right that the center of the motor where the plastic fan blades attach too

Same thing happened to me months last fall. I used the above tutorial and it worked out great. I cleaned the fan blades with soap and water and a brush. I sprayed the entire inside of the electrical motor with an electronic cleaner, it was amazing how much crap came out of that motor. There are then 2 locations where you add oil to the motor (is is a "wick" that soaks up the oil), I used 3 in 1 oil if I remember correctly. Motor hasn't made any bad noises since.

How I fixed up my '85 fan and motor:

Not sure if the 3rd gen fans are similar or not. Lubing up the bushings on each end of the motor really helps a lot.

It is annoying. Mine does it too. Would love to spray some WD40 to it right now if I could!
